Auditions Saturday 28 August at ANZ Stadium
The producers of BEN HUR - The Stadium Spectacular are offering fifteen members of the public the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to take part in the biggest theatrical event ever seen in Australia.
BEN HUR is a Biblical epic that tells the dramatic story of a hero. Narrated by Academy Award winning actor Russell Crowe, the show is produced by StadeFrance Live Events and ANZ Stadium.
"This is a fabulous opportunity for people out there to make the big time in front of thousands of people. We are particularly looking for men and women over the age of 18 who are fit and athletic," says Andrew Guild, the Executive Producer of the Australian production.
"No acting experience is required. The 15 people chosen will become paid members of the 200-strong professional cast and will need to be available for all the rehearsals and performances. The fifteen roles up for grabs include gladiators, slaves, soldiers and towns people. It is a rare chance to be involved in a show of this magnitude. It will be awesome to take part this important chapter of Roman and Australian history," says Andrew.
The public auditions will be held on Saturday 28 August at ANZ Stadium but people need to make sure they apply beforehand at the Ben Hur website. Successful applicants will then be contacted, advising of details of audition process and audition time.
"We are turning the scene of so many great international sporting battles into an arena for ancient gladiator games and a full-scale chariot race," says Daryl Kerry, ANZ Stadium's Managing Director. "It will be a thrilling experience. Who wouldn't want to be part of it?"
Rehearsals will commence at ANZ Stadium on Tuesday 5 October and will take place each day and some evenings between 5 October and 21 October excluding Sundays.
The performances will take place at ANZ Stadium on Friday 22 and Saturday 23 October.
