Audi unveils flagship model to artists, designers, musicians and VIPs Symbolic statement of design influencing art

Audi Ambassadors Sandra Sully and Alisa Camplin gathered to attend the launch of Audi's all-new A8 model at Melbourne's Docklands this evening. VIPs included Sigrid Thornton, Mignon & Cameron Stewart and Christo van Egmond.

Celebrity guests walked the red carpet from 7pm, receiving a glass of Mumm Cordon Rouge Champagne on arrival. An introduction from Roy & HG as MCs kicked off the evening. Joining the comedy duo to launch the new A8 was Mark Shipard, Product Design - Audi, an Australian who returned to Melbourne from Europe especially for the event. A welcome from managing director Audi Australia, Uwe Hagen, launched the evening's festivities, the highlight of which included the unveiling of the flagship A8 limousine.

Australian music greats Jon Stevens, Richard Clapton and Ross Wilson came together for an exclusive performance alongside other entertainment for the evening including live art installations by Russian sand artist, Zurab Shelbaev, a video compilation by acclaimed Australian multi-media artist, Mic Gruchy, sculpture by Australian artist Govinda Webster and a drawing contributed by Australian designer, Collette Dinnigan, visually bringing to life Audi's design philosophy, the 'Art of Progress'.

Guests enjoyed a sit-down canape degustation which included eggplant, pecorino and mint fritters, five spice quail legs and coffee profiteroles.

An impressive wine degustation was served to match, including Pikes "The White Mullet", Piantagenet Chardonnay, Wirra Wirra "Scrubby Rise" and Fonty's Pool Pinot Noir.
