500 Vegan Recipes
An Amazing Variety of Delicious Recipes, From Chilis and Casseroles to Crumbles, Crisps, and Cookies
By Celine Steen and Joni Marie Newman
It is not easy to meet the needs of a Vegan if you are not aware of the details behind this lifestyle. The butt of a fair amount of jokes, they eat nothing that casts a shadow. There's a good deal of reasons behind why someone may be Vegan, not the least being cultural Veganism. I have Hindi friends who are Vegan for example, it's not the diet they adopted so much as the diet they grew up with in their homeland.
Finding something to cook for them can be problematic. It is easy enough to boil a potato, but ultimately it's variety that one needs when it comes to food, and being a collection of 500 recipes this particular book tops any I have seen in recent times.
The collection is well placed, easy to follow and very broad. Excellent variety and simple explanations of what a Vegan diet actually is.
For anyone hosting family members who are Vegan or adopting the diet for their own reasons this is a very useful book. The fact that it offers such a broad variety of food means you don't really need any other cook books. Having said that I am yet to meet anyone who has been able to stop at a one cook book collection; not to worry, it's a good book to start a collection, and you may not need to add to it for ... well, at least 250 meals.
FORMAT: Paperback
RRP: $29.95
