Ranga Day 2010

The link is most likely broken now, but back in 2008 Sorry Ranga Day generated a great deal of support.
On August 10 th, 2008 the Australian people said Sorry and that was really nice.
No word on 2010 as yet; but are there rangas out there who could use a little pat on the back right now? Why not offer our Ms Julia, the Hon Prime Minister a blushed sorry, for all the cruelty and mayhem wreaked upon many a ranga over the years.
It seems a little sour not to keep such a day happening once it has been established, and I suspect Chris, the chap who was originally instrumental in setting it up, would love it if people just picked up the baton and ran with it.
We Australians do not need to wait for a day to be put up really, we can decide based on the past can we not? We can accept that it should simply be August 10, no matter what may otherwise fall on that day.
It's time that the Australian population apologized for the indignity and degradation inflicted on red headed people and moved to a future based on mutual respect, mutual resolve and mutual responsibility. The Ginger Generation, Blood-Nut, Ginger Megs, Bluey, Carrot Top, Ginga, Freckly Arms...and Ranga. The hatred has to stop! Red-haired people across Australia have been unfavourably compared to orang-utans since Summer Heights High first aired across Australian television screens in 2007. 'Ranga' is now firmly entrenched in the vocabulary of ordinary people all over this country. And in a nationwide phenomenon, ordinary Australians have begun to taken up the call to say sorry to their red-headed brethren. As of this morning (22/7) more than 5500 members have signed up to the Sorry Ranga Day Facebook Group, and on average 500 more are joining every day. So join the Australian nation on Sunday August 10th 2008, and let a Ranga know that you are sorry.
