Pegging up the Sky
Best Puppetry award nomination Fringe 2009
Adult puppetry by one of Australia's leading puppeteers
gabrielle griffin
Opening Night: Tues 28 Feb 9pm- Sun March 4 9pm 2012
Puppet Palace, Gluttony precinct, Rymill Park/Rundle St Adelaide
Tix $15/12 available on door or FringeTIX 1300FRINGE
6 shows only!
A performer, dancer, and theatre maker for 20 years, gabrielle discovered adult puppetry in 2003 and hasn't looked back. She has toured Australia, Asia and Europe performing with puppets, and can hear them knocking on the cupboard door to get out.
Her previous full-length show PIE (funded by the Australia Council) was produced and performed at Port Adelaide's Vitalstatistix Theatre company in 2011, and reviewed as 'ethereal', 'haunting', and 'not to be missed'. This Fringe sees a welcome re-mount of her popular earlier show Pegging up the Sky with puppet Ciel, which is all of those things, and more; it's also funny and sexy!
Using an old washing line and props, no dialogue, a faceless puppet, and jazz music, gabrielle promises to transport you to a quiet place of creativity, memories, passion and poignancy.
Come and contribute your own imagination, your private experiences, and your personal story of love and life while you sit safely in the dark in your own chair, just watching...
