METALOG
and
THE KALEIDOSCOPIC ... MOOSE AND SQUIRREL

on
8PM MONDAY 21 JULY 2008 @ Wheatsheaf Hotel

Capturing the essence of COMA (Creative, Original Music Adelaide) is the presentation of Metalog and Moose and Squirrel on the same bill at 8pm Monday 21 July, Wheatsheaf Hotel, 39 George Street, Thebarton, tickets $8 and $5 (COMA Members).

Headed by Jim Denley, an acknowledged leader and innovator in the experimental music and arts scene for many years, Metalog seek new ways to create music through their own hybrid, reinvented or extended instruments interacting through their self developed technologies and electronics creating a metaband. The lineup of Metalog, many of whom were part of the well established Splinter Orchestra, are:

Jim Denley (metasax)
Natasha Anderson (metarecorder)
Robbie Avenaim (metapercussion)
Ben Byrne (metatape)
Dale Gorfinkel (metavibes)
Amanda Stewart (metavoice)

The electronics are unique to the performers and give them each their own unique "sounds" not just the performers' unique "voice" with each member deeply involved in creating their own 'Meta' instruments and their aim, as a group, is to create a 'metaband'.

and

MOOSE AND SQUIRREL
The frenetic drumming of Jarrad Payne, utopian bass grooves of Jamie Mensforth, and chaotic keyboard-bashing of Chris Martin combine in a kaleidoscopic array of dancy grooves, iambic beats, crunchy textures and kinesthetic volumes. A night of genre-bending antics, cross-rhythms, and musical mayhem.
