With a new album, a fresh sound, and a new band the Captains, six-time platinum and multiple ARIA winning recording artist Katie Noonan returned to the spotlight last year. Co-produced by Katie and Grammy Award-winning rock specialist Nick Didia (Pearl Jam, Bruce Springsteen, Stone Temple Pilots, Powderfinger) the April release of her Emperor’s Box album was met with critical acclaim:

Here is a rare talent with a voice of extraordinary beauty and versatility
The Australian

it is a joy to hear Noonan return to the more traditional pop of Emperor’s Box, albeit with a sumptuous and skewed take on the art form that combines the experimental beauty of Sigur Ros and Radiohead with the dark, dreamy atmospherics of 27
Rolling Stone Magazine (4 Stars)

Emperor's Box is unique in the qualities that make it a pertinent listen regardless of genre, place and time
Time Off Magazine

The sound of a confident, accomplished artist, Emperor's Box is a lush and at times muscular affair, captured in the studio by a tight unit clearly at the peak of their form. And of course, Katie's vocals shine.

In February and March 2011 Katie Noonan and the Captains will be returning to the road to share this music with audiences across the nation. This will be the last chance in a while to see this band live before Katie embarks on new musical adventures with her trio ‘elixir’ and classical guitarist Karin Schaupp.
