LIGHTHOUSE TOUR' NEW ALBUM
Following on from an amazing year that saw him take home three ARIA Awards, hit the charts at #4 with his critically-acclaimed debut album and then go on to sell 50,000 copies, Josh Pyke is pleased to announce a short string of dates in support of his upcoming single The Lighthouse Song, taken from the forthcoming album Chimney's Afire.
Josh will take the 'Lighthouse Tour' to venues in Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne and Adelaide to showcase tracks from the album which is due out in early October on Ivy League Records. These dates follow on from festival performances at Big Day Out, Splendour In The Grass and Homebake as well as a sold-out theatre tour last year where Josh previewed The Lighthouse Song, much to the excitement of fans. A departure from his previous work, The Lighthouse Song sees Josh paint his classic lyrics with a slightly darker musical brush.
The upcoming tour will give fans the first opportunity to hear more new songs from the follow-up to Josh's gold record 'Memories & Dust', which had critics and fans alike swooning.
Josh's new album Chimney's Afire was recorded in Sydney, with much of the production handled by Josh himself. The album was mixed by Rob Schnapf (The Vines, Powderfinger, Foo Fighters) and Paul McKercher (Augie March, You Am I).
