Jade Monkey
BrotherSister
with Mr Wednesday, Lumonics performing for the Coopers alive showcase
When: JULY 25, 8pm
Where: The Jade Monkey, Twin Street Adelaide
BrotherSister are heading back to stage for a special show - JULY 25 at the Jade Monkey (Twin Street Adelaide). They have been chosen with 11 other local bands to feature as part of the Coopers Alive, SA live music showcase; an event running over 2 nights across four venues in Adelaide. With each line up at the event given a small grant to help promote and produce a not to be missed show, BrotherSister intend to take the opportunity to grab their audience by waist and whip them away to another place, bringing the songs from their newest release, The Wunder Tales to life with the help of additional musicians and some extra audio and visual treats.
The July 25 showcase will celebrate the launch of an entirely new website exhibition space for the band. With the world of "www" so accustomed to the often messy but convenient format of MySpace (and the like), the website has been instigated and developed specifically to allow visitors some space to see and listen with fewer distractions, and to (hopefully) act as a trigger for their imagination. The siblings have wanted to carry this idea over into their live show as well and have spent the last 3 months creating video and animated material to project at the show. Based on themes from The Wunder Tales cover artwork and from the new website artwork, snippets can be previewed at myspace.com/littlebrothersister.
On the horizon, and perhaps the cream on the Wunder Tales cake this year, is a new music video being made by the folks at Grammy Award Winning Shilo Design firm in New York. The Still Run music video is set for an international online release later this year.
Otherwise, the siblings carry on in their itinerant, inter-disciplinary way; back in the home studio(s) recording solo material; collaborating in numerous film, music, and animation side projects; both in Australia and the USA. The band will also manage to squeeze in a few local and national live shows to celebrate the release of the Still Run video, a luxury their lifestyle doesn't always allow.
After a short break from the stage, BrotherSister are excited to share the Coopers Alive event with such great local acts, to help promote live music in South Australia, and to have the chance and means to inject new ideas back into their own live performance, to make it a memorable night for all.
