Lehmo Opening Tonight

16-18 FEB: PREVIEWS & 19-20 FEB, 23-27 FEB: FULL SHOW
Onya Soapbox Presents:
Lehmo Can't Say No!
Lehmo has never said No. He should have, but he hasn't. As a result he's broken the law, dated the wrong girl, bought shares in a company that never existed, travelled to war zones, performed some horrible gigs, been attacked by an angry mob, and generally embarrassed himself.
I fired off a few questions at him, and with the usual aplomb he answered them:
What does Adelaide mean to you?
It's home. No matter how long I live out of Adelaide for I will always refer to it as home. It's also the only place I can get Fruchocs and a pie floater.
Do you feel embarrassed interstate when you say you come from Adelaide?
Not at all. There is plenty to be proud of. And the people who criticise Adelaide have probably passed through for one day.
Do people laugh louder when they know where you are from?
Depends what the joke is.
Is it difficult to make people laugh?
No - just watch Funniest Home Videos. Is it difficult to make people laugh at a set location, at a set time, continuously for an hour with only a microphone in your hand? Yes, that takes work.
Where do you find your material; do you write it or just think it up?
Most of my work is based on stories from my life. So, I do whatever, get embarrassed, don't talk about it for years then tell a comic friend whilst drunk, they say you should totally tell that story on stage, then I tell it on stage and hopefully people laugh.
What advice have you for people coming to your show?
Don't judge me. We've all done stupid things.
Is it true you will be warming up for Julian Clary's tour?
Have not heard that one but I would love to. I have a pretty big gay following, I think; either that or I have a pretty big gay following me. Not sure.
