FlickerUp National School Student Short Film Competition
Flickerfest 20th International Australian Short Film Festival
Bondi Pavilion, Bondi Beach, Sydney, Australia 7 - 16 January 2011,
then touring nationally from January to March 2011
Flickerfest, Australia's only Academy Award-accredited and BAFTA-recognised short film festival, and its largest short film competition, is accepting entries from at home and around the world for the 2011 Festival, celebrating twenty years of the best short films from around the world. Flickerfest will screen for ten days at Bondi Beach in January 2011 before heading off on a national tour.
For 2011, Flickerfest is thrilled to announce FlickerUp - our inaugural national youth competition for short films from primary and secondary school students or filmmakers under eighteen years of age from across Australia.
Films should be imaginative, fun and original, while showcasing youth talent.
We encourage all types of films on any theme. Finalists' films will be screened at the ten-day Flickerfest festival in Sydney, with the highlights from each state shown on our national tour.
A jury made up of film industry professionals will judge films across several categories including Best Primary School Short, Best High School Short and the Avant Card Award for Best High School Animation. Generous prizes will be awarded in each category.
Films must be under 35 minutes and have been completed within two years of the closing date.
Films can be entered on DVD and compilations are acceptable for school entries.
ENTRY DEADLINES:
Australian entries must be received by 5pm, Friday 22nd October 2010
Entry is ONLY available online at our website.
