ANTHONY SALAME

CENTURY ENTERTAINMENT PRESENTS
Foam down the FUSEBOX, SALAME'S ON FIRE

Young Aussie SBS sitcom veteran (Fat Pizza and Swift and Shift), Anthony Salame still feels he has something to prove in Sydney. An Adelaide boy from way back, Salame is threatening to smash it up comedy wise, in his adopted state at the FuseBox; for the Sydney Comedy Festival (Tuesday 4 - Sun 9 May 2010)

And we better be ready for him.

A regular Comedy Store headliner, Salame's new show On Fire, comes brand-spanking new from the Adelaide Fringe Festival and is set to be super explosive, with a raft of new material that's sure to break funny bones. Salame's special brand of irreverent schtick wacks stereotypes to the ground; revealing his winning blend of self conscious, tongue-in-cheek, irony and cheeky charm.

More than a One Night Stand (Salame's previous and aspirationally named show), On Fire was developed after a month spent in the United States warming up for laugh giant, Pablo Francisco - a golden goose in terms of comedy experiences; and fresh from an Australian tour with internationals Maz Jobrani and Jo Koy.

Salame is one of the undisputed kings of Australian urban comedy. For starters he's a tried and tested favourite of Paul (a.k.a Pauly) Fenech's school of SBS ratings winners. A legendary pep (member) of the Fat Pizza posse (group) - known in lounge rooms across the country as Omar, the dodgy insurance scamming leb (Fat Pizza); and Cassinova-hopeful Mailroom Trainee Anthony Sukor of Swift and Shift Couriers - another Fenech creation now in its second series.

Salame sold out Adelaide Fringe, Melbourne Comedy Festival, and Sydney Comedy Festival 2009; and opened for LL Cool J at The Enmore Theatre Sydney, which proves it all! No wonder his Youtube hits exceed 150 000 views across three clips, with over 7OO comments! And he's positive it's all the ladies.
