2010 Adelaide Fringe Comedy
Adelaide Fringe Festival 2010
MELINDA BUTTLE
SISTA GOT FLOW
Josh Thomas' regular sidekick in his Variety Hour now has sixty minutes of her own to present, at the 2010 Adelaide Fringe Festival. One of the brightest new talents on the national standup scene. You might have already met Mel in passing on The 7pm Project (Network Ten), at the Josh Thomas Variety Hour. But it would be nice to say hello properly for her first ever solo show.
Possibly Australia's only juvenile delinquent-teaching, rap-battling, Twittering gourmand to ever don a vintage frock on the comedy stage, to say that Mel is a hilarious bundle of contradictions is an understatement. And not to get too Susan Boyle on you, she has, um never been kissed.
Emerging from the Melbourne Comedy Festival's Raw Comedy competition as Queensland's national finalist in 2008, Mel is now a familiar face on the robust comedy circuit, and is making waves on the Melbourne, Sydney and now Adelaide scene to boot.
In 2010, in between presenting her show at the Adelaide Fringe, in Brisbane and at the Melbourne Comedy Festival, she'll keep busy rapping, twittering, and sorting out your kids at Redbank Plains.
Mel says, "It's lovely to be performing at the Adelaide Fringe Festival, it will give me a nice break from sitting at home making crossword puzzles based on the lives of my Basset Hounds."
WHEN: Thursday February 18 - Saturday February 27, 10.15pm (except 26-27 at 11pm) WHERE: Ambassador Balcony Restaurant, Ambassadors Hotel, 107 King William Street, Adelaide
TICKETS: Adult $17, Concession $15
BOOKINGS: Fringetix ph: 1300 374 643
